Worplesdon Rangers FC today launched its first ever Player Bursary Scheme, as part of its ongoing 2020 Club Development Strategy.
Commented Club Secretary, Clare Jones on today’s launch: ‘Each season, the Bursary Scheme will benefit a number of players from the senior end of the age groups within the Club, as a way of thanking them for their service to Worplesdon Rangers FC and ensuring that as a Club, we do our bit to keep young footballing talent engaged with the game”.
The Club will award its first bursaries later this autumn and will target FA Level 1 and refereeing courses in the first instance.
Sean Crooke, WRFC Club Development Officer added: ‘This is a first for Worplesdon Rangers FC and an important aspect of the Club’s 2020 Development Strategy, aimed at retaining more senior players in the game. If the scheme is a success, we hope to be able to finance it in subsequent seasons through specialist sponsorship. It’s a great example of how we can give something back to players who have served their Club so well’.

Closing date for 2016/7 applications is the 31st October 2016.
