Following the announcements earlier today from The Football Association, the Surrey Primary League Committee have made the decision to postpone all matches until further notice – this includes all League and Cup games. This means that your scheduled match for Sunday will now not take place.
The Worplesdon Rangers FC Management Committee have also discussed this, and on the basis that schools are still open and that children are still mixing freely, we have taken the decision to allow training to still go ahead for the moment.
However, it is optional for both managers and players. The managers for individual teams can decide if they want to run a training session, and even if they do, parents should decide whether they want their children to attend. Parents should consider the risk for both themselves and their children in attending, guided primarily by official guidance from Public Health. Managers and coaches should also make a similar determination. If you are at all concerned about the risk to you, or the risk of you spreading something, then please do not attend. Please therefore check in your own team’s WhatsApp group to see if your child’s training is going ahead.
This situation is fast-moving. We will continue to monitor the situation and update accordingly, possibly at very short notice.
