About Us

Founded in 2001, Worplesdon Rangers FC is an FA Charter Standard Club for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 18.

We currently have 17 teams, from our Reception and U6 Mini Rangers, through to U16, with membership of over 200 players. As part of the strategy for our older players, we have good links to AFC Worplesdon Rangers, a separately-constituted adult football club that grew out of our youth set-up several seasons ago.

Our ambition is to provide football coaching and match-day experience that is high on quality, enjoyment and value. We aspire to be the club of choice when it comes to grass-roots football in the Worplesdon and Guildford area. We regularly receive feedback to say that we are a friendly and welcoming club to join. For our players, long-lasting friendships are made, both on and off the pitch.

Our coaching sessions and home games are provided at a number of centres in the Guildford area, including our fantastic Mini-Soccer Centre at Northmead Junior School, where our players start their footballing careers with us.

We have over 20 coaches qualified to FA Level 1 standard, an increasing number trained in the FA Youth Modules and a goalkeeping coach. We encourage our coaches to join the FA Licensed Coaches’ Club as part of their continuing development off the pitch.

Our coaches all have enhanced DBS (CRB/CRC) clearance and each age group will have at least one FA qualified Emergency First Aid volunteer at hand. We have a robust approach to safeguarding and child welfare issues and have an Officer on our Management Committee dedicated to developing and implementing our child protection policies. Training for our younger players is usually held on Saturday mornings, while our older teams tend to opt more for midweek training, usually on all-weather pitches.

Match-day experience is provided through our affiliation to a number of local youth football leagues. All our teams currently play in the Surrey Primary League. Teams are generally active on the summer festival and tournament circuit, adding to the playing time on offer.

Our season is typically rounded off in June when we hold our annual Trophy Day event to recognise the achievements of all our players.
