U14 Piranhas in SPL Senior Cup Final

After a successful League campaign in which the U14s secured second spot in the SPL Premier Division, Piranhas were strong favourites to bring home the Senior Cup as well, after having already beaten their opponents Yateley United Youth Predators twice in the League this season. The Final was played at Ash United FC’s ground on Sunday 10th May, with a 4pm kick-off. Following a goalless first half, an early goal from Yateley raised the tempo accordingly and Piranhas responded in kind to level within 5 minutes. Yateley’s second and winning goal still provided Worplesdon with the opportunity to level things by the close but despite a valiant effort, it was not to be. Despite their defeat, congratulations must go to all the players and coaches for having such a successful season. Onwards and upwards!
