Woking Academy Host U9 Players at St Joseph’s School
A pilot programme involving Woking Academy coaches and Worplesdon Rangers FC got underway yesterday at St Joseph’s School AWP, where U9 Scorpions were treated to 1.5 hours of professional coaching by Woking Senior Community and Development Coach, Ryan Dent.
Steve Franklin, Scorpions Coach, commented: ‘The session concentrated on attacking play. After an excellent warm-up based on ball control, the players completed 3 attackers vs 2 defender scenarios. This was followed by a game where the coach focused on the teams’ attention to core shape….It was a great session which the players really enjoyed and one where they behaved impeccably (noted by all!)’
The session was also the last in a series of opportunities before the summer break for some of our younger players to undertake their training on an all-weather pitch, something the Club is keen to offer to all Mini-Soccer teams next season as part of the Club development programme.
More details on the Woking Academy tie-up and plans for the St Joseph’s AWP for next season to follow shortly.
