By Andy Elton, Trojans Manager

On a cold morning, Trojans eased to a comfortable 7-0 win against Farncombe Rockets, during which Lewis McEntee helped himself to a ten-minute, second-half hat-trick.

The first half saw the Trojans create plenty of chances, but only have Adam Elton’s breakaway opener and a further close-range goal from Harry Scanlan to show for their efforts. The lead at half time was just 2-0, thanks mainly to the fine form of the home team goalkeeper.

After the restart, Trojans made some changes and introduced Will Gaff and Lewis McEntee. Gaff’s impact was to score a fine goal, volleying a bouncing ball in off the crossbar from the edge of the area, making it 3-0.  McEntee then came into his own, firstly scoring from range after the ball was cleared and catching the goalkeeper out of position. His second was a simple tap-in after a goal mouth scramble caused by another well-orchestrated attack.  He then completed his hat-trick ten minutes after scoring his first goal, when he found himself in on goal and clinically finished in to the bottom corner, shooting across the goalkeeper.  The rout was complete when Jack Crooke out on the right wing fired a shot in, deceiving the goalkeeper at his near post.
