U12 Warriors Raise £84.50 for Crisis at Christmas Appeal
Andrea and Colin Hobson set up stall in the changing rooms at Cardwells Keep today and ran the U12 Warriors tuck shop with the sole purpose of raising funds for an excellent cause: the ‘Crisis at Christmas’ charity appeal. Thanks to their efforts during the excellent and entertaining 2-2 draw between Warriors and Merton FC, £84.50 was raised from the sale of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, sweets and cakes. This effectively translates into not one but four Christmas lunches for the homeless.
Andrea and Colin would like to thank all the parents and players who joined in the spirit of the occasion and donated so generously. The contribution of the Merton supporters was fantastic as well, so if they are reading this article, thank you from one club to another. One of the Merton coaching staff put in a request for a Marmite drink which sadly Andrea didn’t stock. Fear not, she will ensure this is on the menu next time you visit!
