Nearly there! With many teams already having fulfilled their fixtures for the season, only four matches were played by our senior teams today. These amounted to a 25% win rate, based on one win, one draw and two losses.
Stars of the show were the U16 (SPL), who collected silverware at Wey Court by winning the SPL Junior Trophy Final 4-2 against Halliford Colts.
Elsewhere, the U12s played their final fixture of the season, securing a point in a 1-1 home draw against Claygate Royals Hares. This followed a double-header against the same team last weekend, so they must know each other’s tactics by now!
Finishing their season with defeats were the U14s, with the Trojans 4-1 victims away to Windlesham, while the U14 Lions suffered exactly the same fate score-wise in a home defeat to Oxshott. Uncannily, not only did both teams lose their last game of the season 4-1, they also ended up coming 3rd/11 in their respective Leagues – so a high note to end on for both squads.
All eyes are now on the Club’s final fixture, to be played midweek by U16 (SYL).
Results Round-Up will report back once more and include the final League positions for all WRFC senior teams this season. For full details of this week’s results, please click here.
