7-Year Old Boy Applies for Vacant Inverness Caledonian Thistle Job!

Ewens’ Letter Captures a Club’s Attention….

Hats off to seven-year-old  Ewen Mackenzie, whose application to become a first-team football boss follows the departure of John Hughes from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Writing to chairman Kenny Cameron, Ewen says he can speak to his headmaster to ‘see if he would be up for me leaving school early for important matches, adding ‘I’m sure it won’t be a problem as long as the players chip in and help me with my homework’.

In his letter to the club, Ewen goes on to request that Inverness player Richie Foran, who has been linked with the vacancy, be his assistant manager, with Greg Tansey as captain.

All credit to the club, which published the letter on its website, with the comment: “We think Ewen could be a top contender for the vacant ICTFC managerial position….what do you think?”

ICTFC also sent Ewen a formal response to his job application but obviously felt that the pressures of Key Stage 1 would not be compatible with football management at this stage in Ewen’s career.  Nice to be let down gently though….
