We WON! Sports Club of the Year Award 2019!

YEEESSSSSSSS!! WE ONLY WENT AND WON IT!!

Last week, Worplesdon Rangers were very proud recipients of Sports Club of the Year at the Sport Guildford Awards 2019, the annual celebration of sport in Guildford.

The awards are designed to recognise the outstanding commitment and achievements of individuals, clubs, coaches, volunteers, schools and community groups towards sport in Guildford in the last year.

We’re honoured to be included in such an event and so proud that the efforts of everyone from the Chairman, to the rest of the Committee, all the Managers and Coaches, and all the Parents and Players have been recognised in making WRFC a fantastic place for children to play football in a fun and friendly environment.

Liam Heath, MBE who is the most successful British canoeist at the Olympics ever (and a local Guildford lad), was on hand to give out the awards.

HOW EXCITING IS THAT!!

Left to right: Andy Rudman (Sport Guildford), Sean Crooke (WRFC Club Development Officer), Andi Scanlan (WRFC Chairman), Liam Heath MBE (Reigning Olympic and World champion)

If you’d like to read a little more about the awards, you can do so here on Guildford Borough Council’s News page.

Rumour has it that Sean Crooke’s acceptance speech has now eclipsed the most epic Oscar levels and is in fact, still going! Rescue teams are being sent in as I write.

To be fair, all of us are a bit excited though! 😉
