New WRFC U12 Team Launched Today!

The Newly-Launched WRFC U12s

The Newly-Launched WRFC U12s

Born out of a nucleus of players from last season’s U11 squad, a new WRFC U12 team hit the headlines today, playing their first home fixture at a new ground for the Club this season, Weyfield Primary Academy.

The U12s will be coached and managed by a collective of Dads, including Jim Warner, Les West and Darren Whitfield and former WRFC coach, Bobby Dunne. Sylvia Levick has kindly agreed to support as the squad’s Team Rep.

The boys played their first League fixture today with only two training sessions behind them.  While they lost 5-0, there were spells of the game where they dominated play and had several chances on goal.  Most notable for a new team was their fighting spirit – heads did not go down even when the fifth goal was conceded.

Pundit’s prediction – watch this group of players go from strength to strength ahead of their move to 11-a-side football next season!
