Former Rangers Player Vic Hamilton Joins Woking FC Centre of Excellence

Vic Hamilton joined Worplesdon Rangers Lions U9s in the 2008-2009 season and over the course of the next five seasons progressed to team Captain, gaining just about all team accolades (players’/parents’/managers’ player plus fastest penalties) along the way – apart from top goalscorer.

In his final season, the team gained promotion from East Berks Football Alliance Division 4 to Division 3, where Vic played an integral part – as a midfield dynamo. His then manager, Mark Angus, prompted him to seek opportunities at a higher level and so with some reservation, Vic moved on to Yateley United FC U15 (2014-2015), playing in Division 2 of the East Berks Football Alliance.  His new Manager thought he might do well up front – and sure enough, he did manage to get top goal scorer for the season!  He also had spells with Coerver Performance Academy, ProWay Academy and, unofficially, Woking FC.

This new season sees former WRFC Lion Vic Hamilton officially on the Woking FC Centre of Excellence team and turning out for Brockham Badgers FC U16 in the Surrey Youth League Premier Elite division. He will be playing as an attacking midfielder or striker.

Says proud Dad Nige Hamilton: “We would like to thank the WRFC Committee, Managers and team mates for providing a friendly environment in which Vic could really thrive – and in particular Mark Angus, Dave Burgess and Bobby Dunne for all their support, guidance and encouragement over the years.  In his early years prior to joining WRFC, Vic was regularly overlooked by more favoured players and spent a lot of time on the bench. He never gave up and his tenacity, persistence and determination has now got him at least ‘in the shop window’, where he has the opportunity and potentially to go on to greater things.”

Worplesdon Rangers FC wish Vic continued success with his footballing career as the new season gets under way.
