BTEC Diploma with Leatherhead FC Academy

I have received an email from Adam Deadman who is the U18 Academy Manager at Leatherhead FC. He is on the lookout for any footballers in the 15-17 age range who would like to study a BTEC Diploma at their Academy in Leatherhead. I have sent this email to the relevant Managers regarding setting up a team for one of their competitions, but I think it is more about trying out their services and checking their study syllabus.

If anyone is interested, you can read his email below for more information. Adam’s email and mobile number are at the bottom of the message:

Hello

My name is Adam Deadman and I am the U18 Academy Manager for Leatherhead FC.

The purpose of this email is to explore whether you have any boys in your U16 or U17 sides that would be interested in studying for higher education qualifications as part of our Academy. We offer good young footballers at this age the chance to study for a BTEC diploma during the week whilst receiving top level coaching at our new top class facility, based at River Lane, Leatherhead KT22 0AY.

The mechanics behind what we do is to offer the boys a balance between a good further education and the opportunity to continue their football in order to have every chance to progress into senior football, whether that be at non-league level or perhaps even higher. Three days a week they are taught along their BTEC curriculum followed by a training session. Another day is dedicated to teaching maths and English, with a further day – typically Wednesday – set aside as Academy match days. We are offer to able those with good ability the chance to progress to U21 level – who won the League last year – the reserves or perhaps our first team, currently playing in the Ryman Premier League.

We will also be putting on a 7 a-side tournament in the coming weeks – date to be finalised – whereby the players can experience our facilities, showcase their abilities before food will be laid on with a presentation about our Academy and the syllabus we offer.

We would very much like to extend an invitation to your club to enter a side into this competition but if numbers are light we would still be grateful if you could ascertain whether there are any boys in your U16/U17 sides that would be interested. We will be putting together a few triallist sides consisting of players that are not able to play with their club sides on the day and the main principle behind the tournament is to identify those young adults wishing to further their education in the academic year ahead.

I would be happy to discuss this further or answer any questions you may have either by email or by phone.

Kind Regards

Adam Deadman
