Unfortunately the U17 SYL team has now merged with its SPL counterpart. We wish to thank everyone involved for their support over the years and wish them well for the future.
Team History
Unity, commitment and enjoyment – three suitable words to describe the ethos of the U16 (SYL). Endeavour, skill, passion – three words to describe their approach to football.
Blessed to have retained a core group of players since the team formed over ten years ago, they’ve consistently played in the highest divisions of youth football in the SPL, rarely out of the top division. In 2015-6, the team decided to test themselves against the best youth teams in Surrey and joined the Surrey Youth League. After a tough start, the team went on an unbeaten run to end up as runners-up and gain promotion from the SYL Super Division. The season was all the more memorable for a superb Cup run which saw the lads lift the SYL Invitation Cup at Carshalton’s 3G stadium after a tense penalty shoot-out.
Coaches Paul and Andy have been long servants to the Club and have enjoyed helping the team develop, evolve and reach their potential. We have a talented group of players who enjoy their football and play with pride and passion. We have no ‘stars’, we train as a team and play as a team. Each player is encouraged to act and think in this way.
We are always open to new players: no trial, just come along to one of our training sessions and see if you like it.
