Team Profile
The Warriors are managed by Dan Wheatley and a group of FA Level 1 qualified coaches, several of whom have been with the Club since many of the players were in the Reception age group. The squad comprises a mix of boys and one girl from across a wide spectrum of schools in the borough, which has created new friendship circles outside of day-to-day schooling. The Warriors are encouraged to develop their skills as individuals whilst playing as a team to achieve results.
Originally in Division 4 of the Surrey Primary League, the team progressed to SPL Division 1 by 2014-2015. In their final year at 9v9, Warriors successfully applied to join the Surrey Youth League in September 2015 and have played in Division 2 (of 9 divisions) since their U12 season. Warriors have developed two goalkeepers, who are now coached at the Chelsea Foundation in Cobham, as well as a number of players who have received additional coaching at the Guildford Coerver Performance Academy. The ethos of the team is to be disciplined and to work hard, to be committed and most importantly, to enjoy their football.
Our parents have been paramount to the success of the team through their commitment and support from the touchline and by assisting with coaching at the weekend, running the line on match days, acting as League Pitch Marshals, organising refreshments for home fixtures and helping manage social events for players and parents alike.
