Sean Crooke Receives His Coerver Youth Diploma 2 Award from Coerver Co-Founder Alf Galustian at Millwall FC

WRFC Club Development Officer designate Sean Crooke travelled to Millwall FC’s New Den Stadium on 21st and 22nd May 2016 to take part in the Coerver Coaching Youth Module 2 programme and received his award from Coerver co-founder Alf Galustian after successfully completing the course.  Seventy UK and internationally based coaches with coaching backgrounds ranging from grassroots to professional level were in  attendance on the programme, which expands on the knowledge obtained during the Coerver Youth Diploma 1.  The course emphasises how to develop a team style through individual and small group skills, both in and out of possession.

The course format provided a mixture of four theory and practical sessions. Practical sessions saw England & Wales Coerver Director Scott Wright working with the Millwall FC U13 academy boys on the stadium pitch and Alf Galustian delivering to the Millwall FC U15 girls COE players, in addition to sessions where the course attendees participated as players.

Course attendees were also treated to a fascinating presentation from Dr Peter Bain, Consultant in Clinical Neurology at Imperial College London, which delved into how the brain works and the link to the development of confidence and creativity in Sport.

Coerver England & Wales Director, Scott Wright said ‘Our Youth Diploma 2 course is the third part of our new coach education pathway and is underpinned by our Youth Diploma 1 and Intro Courses respectively’.
